Welcome to my FIFA 19 Inter Milan Career Mode series! In this series, I’ll be documenting my progress through the 2018/19 season as I attempt to do better than Luciano Spalletti.
I play FIFA 19 on World Class difficulty using default sliders and with matches set to 6-minute halves. I also like as much realism as possible, so I’ve disabled transfers at the start of the first season – meaning I have to use the same players that the club started the season with.
Another thing I like to do in FIFA is something I call the ‘facist challenge’, which sounds like a despicable combination of fascism and racism. It actually just means I hate FIFA’s generic player faces. So over the course of the series I will aim to sell any players with generic faces and replace them with players with real faces.
Right then, let’s get straight into this FIFA 19 Inter Milan career, shall we?
August 2018
Sassuolo (Serie A)
We open the season away to Sassuolo, with new signings Sime Vrsaljko and Radja Nainggolan making their debuts. Joao Mario gets the start ahead of Borja Valero, mainly because he doesn’t have a generic face.
A brace from Ivan Perisic gives us a comfortable 2-0 win in the season opener. In the first half, he cuts inside from the left before firing in with his right foot. He adds a second after the break by putting in the rebound after his initial effort is saved.
A good win to the start the season, ahead of a tougher test against Torino in our next match.
Torino (Serie A)
We’re home at the San Siro for the match against Torino. The line-up is unchanged from the opening day win over Sassuolo.
Joao Mario gives us the lead inside 10 minutes with a well-taken strike from just inside the area. Mauro Icardi then opens his account for the season with a header to make it 2-0 before half-time. The captain grabs another in the second half with a precision strike to make it 3-0, which is how the match ends.
Two games, two wins, and two clean sheets to start the season.
So that brings an end to August 2018. Two wins from two in the league, with more games to come in September – including the start of our Champions League campaign.
